Welcome to Sacred Heart National School

Our school, Sacred Heart B.N.S. Ballygall, is a Roman Catholic school with over 470 boys, 25 teachers and 3  SNAs. The school is located on St. Canice’s Rd in Ballygall and primarily caters for boys from the areas of Ballygall, Glasnevin, Finglas and Ballymun. Our principal is Mr Dermot Murphy and our Deputy Principal is Mrs Paula Brennan.

Facilities:

Our classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as interactive whiteboards and iPads and our well stocked libraries, our modern science equipment, and wide range of art supplies allow us to improve academic standards in an interesting, stimulating and fun environment.

We have 16 classrooms, 7 Learning Support classrooms, an Aistear Play Room that is the envy of all schools in the area, a fully equipped computer lab, a large playground a PE hall, a performance stage with modern sound and lighting and (NEW for 2017) an outdoor classroom.

Extra-Curricular Activites:

Our dedicated staff provides a wide range of after-school and extra-curricular activities to suit all interests. We have a proud sporting tradition and many of our pupils have gone on to wear the blue of Dublin and the green of Ireland in sports such as hurling Gaelic Football, soccer and table tennis. Throughout the year, classes in art, drama and science are also available and no event or ceremony is ever complete without the music provided by our amazing school choir.

Rising Academic Standards:

The boys in our school enjoy great facilities, dedicated staff and a large range of activites designed to offer a wholistic education. That said, improving in core areas is always important. As you can see from the graph below, our most recent standardised test results show that our pupils are above the national average in both literacy and numeracy.
